Crews are working to stamp out a large house fire that broke out at a home in Vaughan Friday afternoon.

It started at a home on Joanna Crescent in the Yonge Street and Clark Avenue West area shortly before 1 p.m.

Emergency crews arrived to find the home completely engulfed in flames.

Aerial images showed heavy smoke coming from the home, with most of the roof gone as firefighters worked to extinguish hot spots.

A number of surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution as firefighters battled the blaze.

No injuries have been reported.

It’s not yet clear how the fire started.
