A male was arrested for impaired driving after his vehicle crashed into the front a home in Mississauga late Saturday night, police say.

It happened at an address on Barondale Drive near Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue just before 11 p.m.

There were no injuries reported as a result, however firefighters at the scene said that there is severe damage to the garage and water damage in the basement stemming from a burst water pipe.

Officials from the City of Mississauga had to be called in to examine the structural integrity of the home following the collision.

Ahmed Abdul Ahmid, 19, is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, dangerous operation and refusing to provide a breath sample. Ahmid has been released from custody on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 13.
