A 52-year-old Toronto man has been charged after an elderly man was fatally struck by a pick-up truck in the city’s Davenport neighbourhood earlier this month.

It happened at Davenport Road and Ossington Avenue shortly after 11 a.m. on Oct. 12.

According to police, the 98-year-old man was struck by a truck as it turned left onto Davenport Road from Ossington Avenue.

The man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he died two days later.

Police confirmed that the diver of the truck had been charged in a release issued Friday afternoon.

The man, whose name was not provided by police, faces three charges, including careless driving, and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
