Police in Peel Region have now arrested eight people in connection with the stabbing death of a 24-year-old Woodbridge man last month.

Vittorio Andrew Aiello was taken off life support two days after being stabbed during an altercation with a group of people at an apartment on Acorn Place, located near Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue. 

Investigators have said one of the four people who attacked Aiello was armed with a gun.

The latest suspect to be apprehended by police appeared in court Wednesday for a bail hearing. He is charged with first-degree murder.

Three other people were also recently charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder. Police are alleging Benjamin Owusu, Shayne Cordell Beals , Ahmed Mohammed Abdhakim and Terrance Gerald Noel harboured the suspect and helped him elude police. 

In total, three people face a first-degree murder charge in connection with the case. The suspects have been identified as 23-year-old Eric Nana Kyerematang, 19-year-old David Michael Quinn and 19-year-old Michael Boaheng.

A 23-year-old woman, identified as Vi Sandra Huong, faces a second-degree murder charge.
