BRAMPTON, Ont. - Loblaw Companies Ltd. has expanded its recall of Presidents Choice hummus over toxin concerns to cover more than a dozen varieties.

The company says the recalled product may contain the toxin produced by staphylococcus bacteria, and it should not be eaten.

The recalled product has been removed from store shelves.

Loblaw says customers can return the recalled hummus for a refund.

Earlier this week, Loblaw recalled PC Moroccan-Style Hummus and announced the expanded recall on Thursday.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says there have been reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the recalled products.

PC Roasted Garlic Red Pepper and Cumin Hummus 280 g

PC Roasted Pepper and Paprika Hummus 280 g

PC Roasted Red Pepper and Chipotle Hummus 280 g

PC Spicy Hummus 227 g and 454 g

PC Sweet Potato and Harissa Dip 280 g
