A male driver is in life-threatening condition after the van he was driving struck a light standard in Scarborough’s Clairlea area on Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the area of St. Clair Avenue East and Warden Avenue sometime before 11:07 a.m. Friday for a report of a collision.

A white panel van struck a light standard off of the roadway.

An official with Toronto Paramedics Services said the male was found without vital signs but they managed to revive him and rush him to hospital in life-threatening condition.

St. Clair Avenue East was closed between Birchmount Road and Santamonica Boulevard to allow for an investigation.
