Toronto police say a 38-year-old man is accused of shoving a young girl and then stealing her bicycle, along with her pink jacket and one of her shoes.

Police said the preschool-aged girl was with a female caregiver when she was confronted in a parking lot near Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue on Wednesday at about 9:45 p.m.

A male approached the girl, shoved her off the small bike and then took it from her.

According to police, the man fled with the bike and the girl’s jacket and shoe.

Witnesses alerted police, who arrested a suspect and recovered the bike and the jacket a short time later.

Police said Trong Le, a Toronto resident, has been charged with robbery.

The child and her caregiver left the area without speaking to police, so investigators are still attempting to identify and locate them.

Police said the caregiver is an Asian female who is about 30 years old with short hair. She was wearing a skirt.

The girl is Asian and four to six years old. Her bicycle is white with bright orange rims.
