Police say charges have been laid in connection with the death of an inmate at the Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton.
Police say an inmate was assaulted at the correctional centre on May 5 and less than two weeks later, the inmate died from injuries sustained during the attack.
After launching an investigation into the incident, homicide detectives arrested a suspect at a home in Etobicoke on Sept. 28, 2016.
Police say 21-year-old Emmanuel Blowes-Serrata has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death.
