A man injured in a fight at an East York apartment building last month has died and police say they have charged a Toronto man in connection with his death.

An altercation broke out inside an apartment building on Lumsden Avenue, located north of Danforth Village, in the late afternoon of April 9.

At that time, police said a property manager was approached by a man who was bleeding from his head. He told the manager that he was struck by someone who was still inside the building.

When police arrived, they located four people in total with varying injuries.

The person who was transported in life-threatening condition died on May 9, police said.

He has been identified as of 63-year-old Kenneth McGowan.

Police have charged Jean Guy Thibeault, a 36-year-old Toronto resident, with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, unlawfully in a dwelling and two counts of breaching probation.

Police are still looking to speak with witnesses. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call police at 416-808-7400.
