A man suffered a serious head injury and a woman suffered minor injuries when they were struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in North York’s Windfields neighbourhood on Saturday night.

Toronto Police said they were called to the north side of York Mills Road, east of Leslie Street some time before 6:12 p.m.

They found a man suffering from a head injury, and a woman with minor injuries.

Police said the man was conscious and breathing when they arrived.

Paramedics said the man and the woman were both transported to a hospital trauma centre for treatment.

The westbound lanes of York Mills Road were closed at Scarsdale Road to allow for an investigation.

Traffic is being directed to southbound Scarsdale Road.
