ST. CATHERINES, Ont. -- A Markham, Ont., man is facing a murder charge in the death of a man whose body was found more than a year ago on the shoreline of the Welland River in Niagara Falls.
Niagara regional police say people walking in a park on April 21, 2012, came across the body of Sathiyaraj Mahendran, 21, of Toronto, who had been reported missing earlier that day.
Dinesh Suntharalingam, 23, is charged with second-degree murder.
Police say the investigation is continuing and further arrests are expected.
They are asking anyone with information to contact the Niagara regional police homicide unit or Crime Stoppers.
