Caledon OPP say they are investigating incidents at two separate high schools that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

Police said that at 1:10 p.m. a student at Mayfield Secondary School, near the intersection of Bramalea and Mayfield roads, provided a photo of a weapon to school administrators.

Peel District School Board spokesperson Carla Pereira said the school was put in lockdown, and that police were conducting an investigation at the school, but could not provide further details.

Mayfield Secondary School and two nearby elementary schools —Countryside Village Public School and Castle Oaks Public School — were in lockdown until just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, police and schoolboard officials said.

Investigators said no threat was made with the image of the weapon.

A short drive away in Bolton, police said a robbery occurred in a park near Humberview Secondary School at about 1:12 p.m. Two victims were robbed and one of them was assaulted by the suspect, who is not a student of the school, police said.

Humberview was in a hold and secure state, with no students or staff allowed to enter or leave the building until about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. School board officials said nearby James Bolton Public School was also under a hold and secure order until 3:45 p.m.
