Homicide detectives continue to investigate after a mother of three was found stabbed to death inside a Scarborough townhouse Friday afternoon.

According to police, officers were called to 193 Danzig St., in the Morningside and Lawrence avenues area, at around 4 p.m.

“A female was found with obvious signs of trauma,” Toronto police Det. Andy Singh said at the scene earlier Friday night. “She was pronounced a short time later.”

According to Det.-Sgt. Steve Ryan, the victim, a mother of three girls, was found inside the home by her 14-year-old daughter.

The woman's name has not been released.

Police continue to probe a possible connection between the woman’s death and an incident where a man was struck after jumping in front of a Via Rail train at an overpass at Markham Road and Eglinton Avenue a short time after the victim’s body was discovered.

“The description of that man who jumped in front of the train is very similar to the description of the deceased’s ex-boyfriend,” Ryan said.

While police have yet to confirm the identity of the man, the ex-boyfriend was on bail with conditions not to associate with or contact the victim as a result of charges laid against him last year, Ryan said.

“There is information that this man was continuing to live with the deceased,” he said.

The man who jumped in front of the train is currently in surgery.

“We will get to the hospital in good time and see if we can identify him,” Ryan said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 42 Division.
