It is exactly two months until Torontonians head to the polls and city council is holding their final meeting of this term at city hall. Here is a look at that and everything else going on around the GTA today:

Weather:

The heat and humidity that the city enjoyed on Tuesday may be gone but it is still going to be a pleasant day in Toronto with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 24 C in the forecast.

News:

The cost of riding the new Union-Pearson express train will be up for discussion today along with several measures aimed at improving accountability around capital spending as the final meeting of this term of city council enters its third day.

Toronto Hydro says power has been fully restored to an east end neighbourhood that had been in the dark since Tuesday. Approximately 6,000 customers were without power in the area bounded by Danforth Avenue to Queen Street East, and Main Street to Victoria Park Avenue after a contractor working in the area accidentally cut a line late Tuesday afternoon.The outage coincided with one of the hottest days of the summer and crews worked through the night to get power restored,

Traffic:

One lane in each direction on Yonge Street will be closed between The Esplanade and Bloor Street during non-rush hours this month for utility repairs.

York Mills Road will also be down to one eastbound and one westbound lane between Lesmill Road and Scarsdale Road due to bridge work lasting till Oct. 27.

Richmond Street will be down to two lanes between Church and Yonge streets until October for a watermain project. The road will also be reduced to one lane between Bay and York streets for the next week.

Events:

Singer-songwriter Chris Isaak performs at Massey Hall at 8 p.m. The show is in support of his latest album Beyond the Sun.

The final installment of TIFF in the Park takes place with a special screening of “Pitch Perfect” at David Pecaut Square, beginning at 9 p.m.

The Canadian National Exhibition continues its 18-day run.

Sports:

The Toronto Blue Jays look to snap a three-game losing streak as they host the Boston Red Sox at 7:07 p.m. at Rogers Centre. Marcus Stroman will be on the mound for the Jays.
