Kids in Ontario are saying goodbye to summer break Tuesday as they head back to the classroom. It could be a wet first day back as Environment Canada is predicting a 40 per cent chance of rain late this morning and a risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon.

• Police have launched a back to school road safety campaign that will run from Sept. 2 until Sept. 12.

• A number of schools in Toronto are not yet ready for full-day kindergarten because of ongoing construction to build new classrooms.

• Police are investigating after several shots were fired near Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue late Monday night.
