No injuries were reported after a streetcar and a truck collided on a snowy street in Etobicoke Sunday night.

The collision happened at Lake Shore Boulevard and First Street around 8:30 p.m.

Police said the vehicles collided head-on.

There were initial reports that someone in the truck may have been trapped, but police on-scene said nobody was stuck.

It’s not clear how many people were on the streetcar when the crash occurred.

Police said the cause of the crash has not yet been determined. However it comes as a winter storm descends on the city, with between 10 to 15 centimetres of snow expected to fall in the city through Monday.

Toronto police also told CP24 earlier Sunday evening that they will be out in full force tonight to watch for impaired and dangerous drivers as people attend Super Bowl parties around town in the worsening weather.
