No injuries were reported after a fire broke out at a restaurant in Scarborough overnight.
It happened at Anna Bella BBQ Chicken and Deli, located near Danforth Road and Birchmount Rd., shortly after 12:30 a.m.
According to Toronto Fire Capt. David Eckerman, when crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke could be seen coming from a strip mall where the restaurant is located.
Firefighters had some trouble locating the source of the fire but later discovered it had started in the basement of the restaurant.
Crews were finally able to extinguish the fire at around 1:18 a.m.
No injuries were reported and the Board of Health has been notified.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
