It will be a night of bus travel for some commuters in downtown Toronto tonight.

The Bloor-Danforth subway line will be closed between Ossington and Keele stations beginning at 10 p.m. tonight to allow crews to repair a damaged section of tunnel at Dundas West Station.

Subway service between the two stations was halted for roughly seven hours Tuesday after a buildup of water at silt at Dundas West Station made train operation unsafe.

The debris began leaking onto the track after the tunnel was punctured by crews working in the area on behalf of Metrolinx last week.

Fifty shuttles buses will be running to accommodate the closure. Full subway service will be restored in time for Thursday morning’s commute, the Toronto Transit Commission said.
