One man was taken to hospital with minor burns to the back of his legs following a one-alarm blaze at a midtown scrapyard late Saturday night.

The blaze broke out in a storage shed at the scrapyard on Canvarco Road near Eglinton Avenue and Laird Drive at around 11:50 p.m.

According to Toronto Fire Captain Mike Strapko, propane and gasoline were stored inside the shed, hastening the spread of the fire.

About 9 trucks and 36 firefighters responded to the scene and the blaze was knocked down by about 1:25 a.m., Strapko told CP24.

The cause of the fire is not known.
