Toronto paramedics say a 17-year-old boy has been taken to a Toronto trauma centre after a stabbing near Morningside Avenue and Military Trail.

Police say they were called to an area near the grounds of St. John Paul II Catholic Secondary School at 12:49 p.m.

The teen, police say, suffered multiple stab wounds to his stomach, left bicep and back of the head and is in serious condition according to paramedics.

Police searched the area around the school but said it was not put into lockdown or hold and secure.

Three suspects are sought in relation to the alleged assault.

The first suspect is described as a brown male with collar-length brown hair, and a chubby build, age 17 or 18. He was seen wearing black pants and a red or black jacket.

The second suspect is described as a brown male, standing six-feet tall with a slim build, age 17 or 18. He was wearing black pants and a black jacket.

The third suspect is described as a brown male with “puffy” hair. He was wearing a black and red Adidas jacket and black jeans. Police say the third suspect does not attend the nearby school.

A police canine team was sent to search the area.
