A man who allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old boy in an unprovoked attack while disguised with a Spiderman mask has been arrested.

Police issued a public appeal for information last month after the suspect allegedly attacked the boy with a skateboard near Dundas Street West and Augusta Avenue just before midnight on May 2.

At the time, police said the boy suffered major injuries as a result of the assault.

On Monday, 27-year-old Ashton Gray was arrested and charged with four offences, including aggravated assault, in connection with the incident.

Gray is expected to appear in court at Old City Hall on July 2.
