Police have arrested two people and issued an arrest warrant for a third after a 17-year-old girl was forced into the sex trade.

According to police, the victim was taken to hotels throughout the Greater Toronto Area and forced to work as a sex-trade worker over a period of three months.

During her enslavement, police say the woman attempted to disassociate herself from the suspects, who in turn threatened the safety of her family.

On April 1 Deshawn Holmes, 19, was arrested and charged with six offences including trafficking in persons under 18 years by exercising control, uttering threats and criminal harassment.

On Monday, Nathan Turnball, 19, was also arrested and charged with four counts, including trafficking in persons under 18 years by exercising control, uttering threats and criminal harassment.

Police say that there may be additional victims out there.
