Toronto police have charged a 49-year-old summer and night school teacher with six counts of sexual assault and four counts of sexual exploitation after two females reported being assaulted during school hours over approximately the past two years.

Investigators allege the teacher sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman between November 2014 and January 2015, as well as this past July during school time.

They also allege the man sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl this past July during school hours.

On Aug. 20, Chinedu Okoro of Mississauga was arrested and charged.

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Ave. W. the next day.

Police say Okoro works at C.W. Jeffreys Collegiate Institute located at 340 Sentinel Rd. Between September 2014 and June 2015, Okoro worked at the Emery Adult Learning Centre, located at 3395 Weston Rd.

Investigators believe the accused may have had other victims.

TDSB spokesperson Ryan Bird said Okoro has been placed on home assignment, which is what the board does in all cases involving a serious criminal allegation against an employee.

Bird says Okoro did not teach at C.W. Jeffries as part of the regular school day, and parents, students and staff will be kept up to date as the investigation progresses.
