Toronto police are investigating after an injured man was found on the street early Tuesday morning.

Police are trying to figure out how the man was injured and whether he was the victim of a crime.

Investigators don't believe the man was struck by a vehicle, police said.

The man, who is 30 to 40 years old, suffered a head injury and was taken to a trauma centre for treatment, a Toronto EMS spokesperson told CP24.

During the investigation at the scene, police officers shut down Lake Shore near Newfoundland Road, just east of Ontario Place, but the lanes reopened at 5:30 a.m.
