Police are investigating a sexual assault that took place at a student residence on the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus.

At approximately 4 a.m. on Tuesday, a male broke into a campus residence through an unlocked window and startled a 19-year-old female student awake. The student was sexually assaulted by the man who later fled. Police say the victim did not sustain any physical injuries from the assault.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, who is approximately five-foot-five. The man was last seen wearing a hoodie and a knit hat.

Police remind all members of the public to be diligent in locking all windows and doors while they are away and before going to bed at night.
