Peel police have issued an arrest warrant for a 21-year-old Brampton man following a shooting that occurred on Highway 427 during the rush-hour commute last week.

According to police, two vehicles - a black sedan and a black sport utility vehicle - were travelling on the highway, south of Dixon Road, at around 5 p.m. on Jan. 26.

Investigators believe the occupants travelling in the sedan began shooting at the SUV.

Both vehicles merged onto the westbound lanes of Highway 401 where they then collided with one another multiple times. The damaged black sedan was subsequently discarded on the side of the highway, police said. The SUV fled the scene.

Police have issued a warrant for a suspect they allege was travelling in the sedan.

Shuhja Morrison is wanted for multiple firearms offences.

He is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached if spotted, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 905-453-2121 ext. 1233 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
