A suspect has been arrested after a man was stabbed inside an Air Canada operations facility in Brampton, Peel police have confirmed.

It happened sometime before 10 p.m. at the facility located on Ironbridge Road, northwest of Mississauga Road and Highway 407.

The victim – believed to be in his 30s – was transported to a Toronto hospital in critical condition, Peel police Const. George Tudos said.

A second patient was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known.

“This is an isolated incident,” Tudos told CP24 at the scene. “There is no public safety concern.”

The building was placed under a hold and secure order as police searched for the suspect using tactical and canine units.

The male suspect was arrested off site, Tudos said.

Details on where the arrest took place were not provided.
