The hunt is on for multiple suspects following a shooting in Etobicoke that sent two men to hospital – at least one with life-threatening injuries.

It happened in the Bloor Street and Aukland Road area shortly before 6 p.m.

According to police, one victim was shot while sitting in a vehicle at a nearby fast food restaurant.

After being shot, he left the parking lot driving up Aukland Road.

Police found him behind the wheel after responding to reports of a vehicle driving erratically in the area. Officers performed first aid on the victim until paramedics arrived.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, paramedics said.

A handgun was recovered from the car, police said. At least one bullet hole was visible in the door on the passenger side of the vehicle which remains at the scene.

The condition of the second victim was not immediately known. It was also not immediately clear if he was also in the car when he was shot.

He is currently in hospital in Mississauga, police said.

Investigators said they are currently searching for multiple suspects in connection with the shooting, though no suspect descriptions have yet been provided.

Aukland Road remains closed from Dundas to Bloor streets as police investigate.
