Toronto police say they have arrested a 22-year-old man who allegedly forced a 16-year-old girl into the sex trade.
Police allege that the girl was taken to various hotels across the GTA over a one-month period and was held against her will.
Investigators say the teen was forced into prostitution after threats were made against her family. Police also say she was physically and sexually assaulted by the suspect and asked to lie about her age.
Michael Hazel, 22, of no fixed address, is facing several charges in connection with the case, including trafficking in persons, forcible confinement, and sexual assault.
