Three Toronto teens – two adults and a young offender – face a total of 18 charges following the armed robbery of a taxi driver in Scarborough early Monday morning.

According to police, the taxi driver picked up three males near Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East at around 1:30 a.m.

The passengers directed the driver to the area of Finch and Pharmacy avenues, where, upon arrival, a knife was produced and the driver was assaulted and had his life threatened.

The males stole a quantity of cash, a phone and the driver’s keys before fleeing the area.

Three suspects were arrested in connection with the case following a search warrant executed by police.

Fahmi Osman, 19, and 18-year-old Faruuq Osman, both of Toronto, each face five charges including assault with a weapon, robbery and carrying a concealed weapon.

A 16-year-old boy faces eight charges, including assault with a weapon, robbery and carrying a concealed weapon.

He cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

All three suspects appeared in court Tuesday.
