A truck driver is facing a number of charges in connection with a pedestrian collision that left a 22-year-old woman dead in November.

It happened at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue on Nov. 27.

According to police, the woman was on the southwest side of the intersection when she was struck by a fuel tanker truck turning south onto Bathurst from Eglinton shortly before 6 a.m.

The driver was later stopped by a witness on Bathurst Street.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a release Thursday afternoon, police announced that the driver of the truck is now charged with careless driving, failing to stop for a red light, and failing to yield to a pedestrian.

The man’s name was not provided by police. He is scheduled to appear in court March 10.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
