York Regional Police have released new surveillance video and photographs of a suspect sought in connection with a shooting at a Woodbridge café that left two people dead last week.

Maria Voci, 47, and 24-year-old Christopher DeSimone, both of Vaughan, were fatally shot at Moka, an espresso and gelato bar near Highway 7 and Islington Avenue, at around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Two other men - including former Toronto mayoral candidate Rocco Di Paola - were also injured in the shooting.

In a release issued late Tuesday afternoon, police provided new photographs and video of a suspect.

“This is from the scene, the day prior to the shooting,” York Regional Police Const. Laura Nicolle said of the new video and images.

“This shows the suspect coming up to the scene, in the same vehicle. Our previous videos and photos had only shown the suspect wearing a mask, so we’re hoping that someone can identify this suspect, and contact us with that information.”

Police also provided an updated description of the suspect.

He is described as black, standing six feet tall, with a muscular build.

A new photograph provided by police shows the suspect wearing a grey and white zip-up Air Jordan track jacket, and what appears to be a blue and black Toronto Blue Jays baseball cap.

The release also includes the same description of a suspect vehicle originally provided in a release last week.

The vehicle is described as a black, 2011 Nissan Versa, with the licence plate BVLW 273.

“This is a stolen vehicle,” Nicolle said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 866-876-5433 ext. 2411 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
