Toronto FC has added some Argentinean talent to its roster by acquiring Pablo Vitti on a loan from FC Chernomorets Odessa of the Ukrainian Premier League.

The 23-year-old striker was on loan to the Ukrainian team from Independiente of Argentina.

Mo Johnston, Toronto FC's director of soccer, says the MLS club actually tried to acquire Vitti from his previous Argentinian club, Rosario Central, when they played a friendly game against the FC last summer.

The offer, however, was declined.

"MLS can be a difficult league for players to adjust to straight away so we are pleased that we could secure this loan deal now to allow Pablo time to adjust and settle in through a proper pre-season," Johnston says.

Vitti scored the game winner in the 68th minute during the game on July 15 at BMO Field.

Although Vitti was most successful with Central in the 2004/2005 season where he scored eight goals in 29 games, he's failed to find the back of the net as often in recent years.

In 2005/2006, he scored no goals in ten official appearances with two Argentine teams. He repeated the feat again the next season, but in fewer games.

This season, Vitti has scored one goal in four appearances with Chornomorets.
