While drivers are likely happy they won't have to deal with any more ice and snow for now, there's a new obstacle for motorists to deal with - construction and the delays it causes.
The City of Toronto is kicking off its road construction season Friday morning with a campaign to fix potholes throughout the city.
Mayor David Miller and Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker helped fill in a pothole in Scarborough Friday morning at a press conference to announce the blitz.
They say the city plans to fix as many as 400,000 potholes this year and has even launched a special pothole hotline for people to call (416-599-9090).
De Baeremaeker says he guarantees that potholes called into the hotline will be fixed in five working days.
"You pay us tax money, you pay us a lot of taxes. What we have to do is provide essential services to you and fix your potholes," he says.
"If you call a pizza hotline, you'll fill your stomach. If you call our pothole hotline, we'll fix your pothole."
Officials say 90,000 pot holes have already been fixed this year.
