Security video shows SUV driving on top of 2 cars

An image taken from security video shows a black SUV driving on top of two other vehicles.

A York Region gym staffer is looking for a new car after his was crushed by an SUV in an Extreme Fitness parking lot.

In a display that looked more like something from a demolition derby rather than a parking attempt, the driver of the BMW SUV failed to use the brakes after pulling into a parking spot.

After driving up onto the hoods of two cars, the SUV driver reversed and then proceeded to drive away from the Thornhill gym, located near Yonge Street and Highway 407.

While one of the vehicles was a rental being used by a tourist, the other belonged to the gym’s information technology specialist, Todd Jamison.

He says he couldn't believe what he was seeing when he replayed the security tapes and called on co-workers to watch the images of the cars getting crunched.

York Regional Police are now looking for the vehicle and hoping to find out how this happened. Jamison says he hopes someone who recognizes the SUV comes forward to police.
