TORONTO - CUPE says sessional teaching staff at the University of Toronto today reached a tentative settlement with the university administration.

CUPE Local 3902 says the deal was reached on the eve of Monday's strike deadline.

Negotiations began back in July, and both sides filed jointly for conciliation at the end of August due to a stalemate over job security.

The union says a further impasse over wages led to the union setting the strike deadline.

Details of the settlement will be made available to members at a ratification vote meeting on Nov. 16.
