Service has resumed on GO train Georgetown line after it was temporarily suspended as police and fire authorities investigated the smell of gas just west of the Etobicoke North GO station.

Police say crews were digging at the depth of 21 metres at Carlingview Drive and Entrance Road and they smelled gas before noon Friday. Police say crews didn’t hit a gas line, but there is a pocket of gas under the location they were drilling.

The hazmat team was at the scene. For more information, visit the GO Transit website.
