Where David Stands on the Big Issues Facing Toronto:

1. How would you tackle the city's financial challenges?

I really don't think the City of Toronto is short of money. We are supporting a lot of things that shouldn't be on the city's budget that makes us short of money.

2. What would you do to lower the city's crime rate?

I really don't think crime is a problem in Toronto. All stats show that the crime rate is going down. I think we are a well-managed city.

3. What are your thoughts on Transit City?

I am basically against and would like to see a lot more studies to show that it makes sense, because I am not sure it does.

4. Should the city be painting more bike lanes?

I am a little bit against them. I think there is a lot of sidewalks that can be utilized as bike lanes and that would solve a lot of our problems.

5. Do you believe the city should charge road tolls?

If they go across the whole province I am in favour. If they are just across the city I am not in favour.

6. How would you go about cleaning up the city?

Pollution is a problem everywhere, and I think technology and the automobile are largely taking care of that at this point. What we haven't looked at are the other city energy waster buildings in Toronto, they are also big polluters.

7. What is your big idea for the city?

The main reason I am running is to support efforts that would see Toronto become its own province.
