OTTAWA - Consumers are being warned not to east certain Best Value beef burger products because they may be contaminated with E. coli.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the product come in 10 and 20-burger packages weighing one and two kilograms respectively.

The 10 Beef Burgers package carries a UPC code of 7-71212-88103-8 and the 20-burger package has a UPC code of 7-71212-88104-5.

The CFIA says these products have been distributed to Giant Tiger and Northern Canada retail stores across Canada, except Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

The federal agency says there has been one reported illness linked to eating these burgers.

New Food Classics of Burlington, Ont., is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the market and the CFIA is monitoring the recall.
