Members of Toronto city council's so-called "mighty middle" are meeting Thursday night to throw around ideas during a brainstorming session.

One of the ideas they will discuss is charging non-Torontonians a toll to drive on the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway to generate revenue for the city.

"Non-residents would contribute to help support the city's prosperity," Coun. James Pasternak, one of the city's "middle" councillors, told the Toronto Star.

The group is meeting to discuss potential initiatives to tackle during the final two years of the current term before the next municipal election in 2014.
