CALGARY -- Team Canada's John Morris defeated Northern Ontario's Brad Jacobs 6-5 on Sunday to win the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier.
Northern Ontario trailed 5-3 in the 10th end but, with hammer in hand, Jacobs grabbed a deuce to tie the match and force an extra. Morris scored a single in the 11th to claim the men's national curling championship.
Morris demoted himself to third and handed skipping duties off to Pat Simmons midway through the preliminary round for Canada, which wrapped up round-robin play at 7-4.
Jacobs topped the preliminary round with a 10-1 record. His Sault Ste. Marie team won a Canadian title two years ago and Olympic gold last year.
Morris earns an automatic entry into next year's Brier in Ottawa.
Earlier, Saskatchewan's Steve Laycock defeated Newfoundland and Labrador's Brad Gushue 7-5 in 11 ends for bronze.
