TORONTO - The Toronto Raptors appear to have signed power forward/centre Jared Sullinger in an attempt to solidify their frontcourt.

The Raptors have not officially announced the signing, but Sullinger tweeted "WE THE NORTH.0" on his verified account and changed his Twitter avatar to a Raptors logo. Reports say the deal is for one year at around US$6 million.

Toronto has been looking for frontcourt help to replace popular centre Bismack Biyombo, who signed as a free agent with Orlando.

Sullinger spent his first four season in the NBA with Boston, averaging 11.1 points and 7.7 rebounds a game. He is considered a talented player who struggles with fitness.

The Celtics rescinded a $4.4-million qualifying offer to Sullinger last week.

Boston has been in need of cap space after signing Al Horford to a four-year, $113 million contract.
