MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Peel regional police are alerting the public that coyotes have been sighted in south Mississauga.

Several people flagged down officers Thursday afternoon to report seeing two coyotes.

Police say the animals were spotted in a dry creek bed area near Council Ring Road, just east of Glen Erin Drive.

Police warn residents that coyotes can become aggressive if they get used to humans feeding them or even leaving food around.

Anyone who sees a coyote is being urged to contact police or Mississauga Animal Control.
