Pride week promises to be an interesting one at the Bloor Cinema, as the theatre celebrates the best and most bizarre gay films with the Queer View festival.

From "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (John Cameron Mitchell's musical tale of a transgendered East German rocker) to "Showgirls" (Elizabeth Berkley's critically-panned breakout film following "Saved by the Bell"), the options are as wide-ranging as the local celebrities presenting them.

Writer, director and underground porn star Bruce LaBruce kicks off the event on June 21, presenting "Windows," a thriller directed by Godfather cinematographer Gordon Willis, and "The Sergeant," a film that explores homosexuality in the American military.

Other presenters throughout the week include artist and drag queen Andrew Harwood, "American Psycho" screenwriter Guinevere Turner and "Degrassi: The Next Generation" actor Adamo Ruggiero.

Tickets are $10 per screening, or $15 for two consecutive screenings.
