There are lots of volunteers sorting donations at the Daily Bread Food Bank, but there is not enough food.

Toronto's largest food bank has decided to extend its spring food drive to April 17 after one of its slowest seasons ever. It had originally been scheduled to end this week.

Financial and food donations have both been dismal this spring, reaching less than half of the organization's goal of 250,000 pounds of food and $250,000.

The North York Harvest food bank is in a similar bind. Both charities collect food at local fire halls and Loblaws stores.
