An impaired driving conviction in Florida and comments about newcomers to Toronto hasn't really affected Rob Ford's chances to be mayor of Toronto, according to a new poll reported in the Toronto Star yesterday.

Ford has the support of 32 per cent polled voters, George Smitherman has 21 per cent, Sarah Thomson has 10 per cent, Joe Pantalone has 9 per cent and Rocco Rossi has 7 per cent – while 21 per cent are undecided.

The poll of 400 Torontonians was done by Ipsos Reid and commissioned by the National Post, Global TV and Newstalk 1010. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

A spokesperson for the Smitherman campaign told the Star he doesn't think the impact of Ford's "indiscretions" has been reflected in the polls yet.

The news outlet also reports that Rossi has parted with campaign manager Sachin Aggarwal and replaced him with Bernie Morton.
