Metropass holders may no longer get free parking in TTC commuter lots across Greater Toronto.

Management officials will vote tomorrow on the staff recommendation to scrap free parking for Metropass holders.

Parking can cost up to $6 a day at some TTC lots. Maintaining the lots costs the organization as much as $7 million dollars a year, which all riders end up subsidizing, TTC Chair Adam Giambrone tells CP24.

Metropass holders make up 80 percent of the drivers using those parking spots.

Meanwhile, paramedics will monitor the platforms of several busy subway stations during peak hours as part of a 19-week pilot project.

TTC officials are hoping to reduce emergency response times during busy commuting hours.
