Fire investigators continue to probe the cause of a house fire that killed three people in Whitby on the weekend.

Firefighters pulled the bodies of a young man and two young women from a home on Dundas Street West early Sunday morning.

Autopsies were scheduled to begin Monday to confirm the cause of death of each victim.

Friends have been dropping off flowers at the site of the triple fatal fire, creating a small memorial to the victims.

Police haven't released the victims' names, but friends identified the young man as Ben Twiddy, a Grade 12 student at a Whitby high school, 17-year-old Hollie Towie and 18-year-old Holly Harrison.

The house where the blaze occurred is divided into three rental units. A fellow tenant previously told CP24 the young man rented the top-floor apartment where the fire broke out.
