Ontario Provincial Police have reopened Highway 404's northbound lanes south of Stouffville Road following a three-vehicle crash that injured two people Wednesday morning.

Northbound vehicles were being diverted onto Elgin Mills Road during the closure, which ended at about 11:15 a.m.

OPP said a southbound Honda vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes for reasons unknown and collided with an oncoming GMC van at about 7:30 a.m.

A third vehicle was involved in the crash, police said.

OPP said two people - a 46-year-old Newmarket woman who was driving the Honda and a 56-year-old man who was driving the van - were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Charges haven't been laid.
