A woman in her 50s is dead after being struck by a minivan at a Mississauga intersection Wednesday morning.

Peel EMS officials told CP24 the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which occurred at Eglinton Avenue West and McLaughlin Road at about 6:15 a.m.

The intersection reopened shortly after 11 a.m.

No other injuries were reported.

This is the second fatal collision involving a pedestrian in as many days in the Greater Toronto Area.

On Tuesday, a 24-year-old woman was killed and an 18-year-old man suffered serious injuries when they were struck by a vehicle at Torbram Road and Queen Street in Brampton.
